A few years ago I purchased an IH 560 that was born a diesel, it now has what is reputedly a 403 combine gas engine in it. After new plugs, points, wires, cap, and a carb rebuild, it seems to be running pretty good, But I have no experience with red tractors and LOT'S of questions. Drained alot of water out the trans/dif before I go to pure HyTran oil. Since water and oil seperate, I wonder if it's really necessary to drain completely and replace. Can anybody confirm or deny that? Also what kind of info can anybody give me on the engine conversion? Could it actually be a 403 combine engine, and if so, how can I tell? Also missing the two halves of the hood that cover the battery and back half of the fuel tank, where can I find replacement tin? I replaced the narrow front end with a wide front that I got from a guy who said it came off an earlier Farmall (an H or an M maybe?) How can I tell what it actually came from? I got an after market 3pt since this tractor did not have a "fast hitch" (or whatcacallit) The lever for the T/A is missing, where can I get one? (God I hope it WORKS!) Thanks in advance for any help I can get. GH
