My recent experience with these little devils was when my Border Collie started sniffing around the wash tub on the front porch that contained Fall decorations. (No we're not still using wash tubs for the intended purpose). Carfully emtied all the pumpkins, etc out being careful to leave the mouse. Mouse could not escape from the tub and much to my surprise the dog took care of it. I was surprised because that is the first time I know that she ever killed anything. As some of you likely know Border Collies are bred to herd, not kill anything and I actually think she was only trying to nip it to make it go where she wanted and did not intend to kill it.
