piston clearance

A widowed friend of mine has asked me to get her late husband's F20 running. It was stuck but not badly. Now that I've got everything cleaned up I have .025-.030 clearance between the sleeve and pistons with about .012 taper from top to bottom. She doesn't have much money and only wants it running good enough for the local parade once a year. Is this baby going to knock badly or can we get by with rings only? Any experience out there?? Thanks for the opinions.
