I have a 1952 Super M that my Dad and I built last winter. It has a 264 cubic inch engine which originally came with 4" pistons. It already had 4 and 1/8 inch pistons in it, so thats what we went back with. We pulled it this year in the antique classes up to 7500 lbs. and it does pretty good. We are thinking of building another tractor this winter. What I want to know is what is the difference in a 264 cid. and a 281 cid. I know a 264 came with a 4" bore and a 281 came with a 4 and 1/8 inch bore. I want to know what is the biggest piston you can put in a 264 with or without boring the block. I also want to know if you can put a bigger piston in a 281 than you can a 264 with or without boring. Any information would be greatly appreciated, Thanks Drew.
