What I remember from mine is leave the shaft linkage coupled but the bolts and nuts loose. The clutch plate springs must be compressed as Haas said and unbolted from the flywheel. Make two hooks from flat strips of metal to reach in on the edges of the clutch plate and pull it out from the the inside of the flywheel. Let it side out on the splined shaft. Once the clutch plate is outside of the flywheel inset the shaft can then be unbolted and all will come falling down on your belly. to install it reverse the proceedure.

What a surprise to open up your first old tractor's air filter case and find a can that appears to be filled with the scrap metal swept from around a machine shop metal lathe. To top that off, you have a cup with oil in it ("why would you want to lubricate your carburetor?"). On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
