I think an MD is a wonderfull diesel and a great testimony to IH leadership in diesel engines. Only IH and Cat had the determination and resourses to build, educate and service the new technology that the diesel demanded. I don't think most people realize how difficult and important their contribution was. Having said that I hope you realize what an enourmous money and time pit your MD could become. With stuck engine you could be looking at $6 - $8,000. Don't laugh - others who had no intention of spending that amount did and lived to regret it. I think you should find a running one and keep yours for parts. Good luck and I hope you get one of those sweet running diesels going!
