hey! get it started and with a multimeter set on a dc range touch the positive and negative of the battery and monitor the voltage, 12 volt system should put out up to 14.0 vdc, you may have to throttle up a little to see and increase on the meter , if it is a six volt system you may have cooked the regulator! good luck
