I know you said take it off the reg, but that's the part I find dangerous. How's a fellow supposed to do all that with out getting a zap? I would presume that you could disconnect the battery, but then you've got to connect the battery before making contact.
Unless you can leave the wires connected and make momentary contact with the battery cable providing the jolt needed?
This I assume is all done to polarize the battery right? Do you then polarize the reg as per the instructions?
