That is the way you oil them. The F-30 has an oil pad instead of wicks but they dry out and get hard from time and heat. If the pad in the F-30 or the wicks in the F-20 have not been replaced for a long time you would be money ahead to take the valve cover off and replace them. It does no good to pour oil in the trough and it run right out on one or two rockers and leave the others dry. I have taken the valve cover off my F-20 and F-30 to find the wicks and pad hard and broken up. They were not working very good if at all. You can get the parts from Rice Equipment. Not a hard job at all. Good luck
