Rick: I have done this job and my first concern has always been jacking of tractor and stability in that position. I always cut couple wooden wedges and drive them in between front axle and bumper on the front axle pivot. This puts the stability on front axle and wheels. I am always concerned when you remove the right wheel and final drive that tractor may tip. I remove the wheel right down to hub. I then place a pallet jack perpendicular to tractor and so you can block on each fork of jack to front and rear of final drive. Also put cross blocking under axle hub, this will keep final drive balanced. Remove bolts from final drive at top. You will need to start it with a pry bar as there are dowells on final drive, at point where it connects to tractor. With the casting sitting on the jack it makes reinstalling very easy.

On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
