Mike, Assuming you have disc brakes (You said gonna replace both discs) you could have a bad seal on the bull pinion shaft on the right side letting tranny oil onto the pads. Other thought is that something has gone wrong inside of the brake. Not sure about the SMTA but think its similar to the later M's and SM's. Relax/Remove the adjustment dome nut and lock nut, then the three bolts from the hub. Now pull the hub off of the two discs and actuator ring. You may have to work a little on this process. Once off you will see what you have. Provided nothing is broken check the seals integrity. If you have to replace the seal it will take two new ones per side as they are thinner than the original. Install new ones with lip facing inward. The old seals are not easily removed as I found out. Makes the job easier if you remove the outer spline shaft first and then use a seal puller against the bull pinion shaft. Remove the short heavy springs on the actuator and unbolt the scissor looking thing. Once apart, you will see four shooter marble size balls in elongated slots. Clean the balls and slots real good. Replace the balls if they are pitted or scored. Check the cone-shaped return spring that fits over the actuator adjustment bolt on the inside of the hub too. I had one that was missing one complete turn of the spring making it shorter that the other one. They are no longer available in the CaseIH parts locker..Bone yard it if you need one. Put it all back together in reverse order and adjust the brake with about 1-1/2 inches of free travel measured from tranny cover to back side of brake pedal arm where it hits on the tranny cover. Fine tune after test drive by either loosing the tight brake or tightening the loose one if they don't brake the same. Good luck.
