My father and I were plowing with his 1486 this past weekend and his transmission cover gets very hot. You can't hold your hand on it more than 3 seconds due to the heat. He's had different service people come out and work on it, but they said trying to find where the line is clogged up would take a lot of time and money, so he's been driving it as is. He had it under a load with the 16ft disk at full angle and depth on some pretty hard ground. I'm still trying to learn how to repair it, but he said that it had something to do with a ball getting stuck in one of the lines and not allowing the fluid to blow by. Since this is a big tractor I was wondering if there would be a simple way to find this or do you have to tear down the entire transmission and go through it line by line? Thanks for any help.
