Good idea to drain the cooling system if it has been along time since the nozzles have been out. Turn the flywheel until you get to 8 degrees before top dead center. Make sure the markes in the injection pump are lined up under the small cover on the left side of the pump. If not turn the engine over another turn. Don't worry about the seals on the pump shaft you can't hurt them because they are in the pump adapter. The other person that answered you is thinking about a D 282. Just line the static timing up and pull the pump. Been working on IH 39 years
