There can be several problems: Bad oil Pressure regulating vale & Spring, Shot oil pump, excessive oil clearances on the crankshaft or camshaft. Personally I would start with inspecting the rods & mains and plastigauging the journals to see if the oil clearance is over 0.003" It is also wise to take the bottom plate off of the oil pump to inspect the wear to the oil pump, and check the condition of the pressure regulating valve. If the problem is major, then you will at a minimum be looking at having the crankshaft reground, and new camshaft bearings installed.
