The TA on a Super MTA was optional. I think it was the same way on the 400. It's entirely possible that there never was a TA on the tractor in the first place, so there was nothing to bypass.

What you need to determine is if the TA lever and linkage were simply removed, or if there is even a TA in the tractor.
