We have that problem on our 450. I usually just take the air compressor with the air wand and a shop rag to help seal the hole and create a positive pressure in the tank. Make sure the hose is cracked on the output side of the pump. You do not need a whole lotta pressure to prime the pump usually. Hope this helps and good luck.
