What is it?

On my 49 C I something that I originally thought was to adjust the clutch until I got my book. It's not covered in my book either. From the clutch pedal, there is a rod that extends to the clutch lever, for lack of a better term. On the opposite side, but still on the lever, there is a bolt with a locking nut on it. The bolt is cone shaped on the thread end. I now know that you adjust the clutch through the hand hole, is this bolt for minor adjustments? Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Jay
