The TA in my 400 is peachy keen. Have been using it quite a bit wile plowing and disking. Found that a TA does not help bald tires get more traction :-) They just spin slower. The only reason I replaced mine was that I was going to split the tractor any way. SO might as well. Resale value takes a big hit when the TA is out. I think if it was the only thing that needed a fix. I would not do it. Its usefull but not a show stopper. Your tractor can still do every thing it was intended to do with out it. Now it you have to split one for a clutch or some thing I would recomend replacing the rear engine seals on back as I did. You only want to do that once. SO you might as well get it all done. Yes I got mine from Steel Wheel Ranch. $499 I think. Also $60 or so in seals, Not a bad deal if you do the work your self.
