To CNKS: thanks tons! After I took that "spring" out of my carburetor, I did that blow through test and got the expected results when it operates properly. Put the carb back on and cranked her up. WOW! I made a few tweak adjustments for the idle and throttle and I drove it for the first time in two years! Woo Hoo! Unfortunately, where I live in Texas, fire ants are a real problem. My field is so overgrown that I can't see the hills, I find them by running them over. I hit one yesterday that darn near popped me off the tractor. The shredder hit that and now I get to redo all that work I put into fixing the PTO. It popped my woodruff key on the spline to gear tooth wheel again. I look at this as a plus, really. I already know exactly what's wrong, I know how to fix it, and now I truly know what messed it up last time. This means that from here on out, I will know what to do when I run over one of those darn ant hills. Stop when the tractor hits it, idle down, reverse and go around it. Yesterday I mowed about an acre and a half with the shredder before the "accident." I don't think that I have had more fun on my property "working." CSD
