I'd agree with Jim E. that you are running too much supply pressure - which all gets turned into heat. Things that MAY help (assuming I understand your piping correctly): - Get rid of the spin-on filter, and go back to the original IH filter assembly inside the reservoir. The crud which is now clogging up your add-on filter is passing through your pump to get there - not a good thing given the close tolerances in the pump. The filter needs to be located before the pump. While you're in the reservoir, clean it thoroughly - the stuff which is clogging your present filter has to be coming from somewhere. - The 3/8" and 1/2" hoses going from the reservoir to your valve(s?) sound awfully small for the capacity of the pump. The metal tubes to/from the pump are 1" and 3/4"; your hoses certainly shouldn't be any smaller, and probably should be larger because you're adding extra piping length to the original design. - This flow divider of yours doesn't sound very good. The original IH design was self-adjusting (supplying anything from zero to full flow to the power steering) and had a force-balance design which minimized pressure drop across it to nearly nothing. This Prince thing of yours sounds like it could be your major problem. - It sounds as though you must have an open-center gang of control valves?? Is there any safety valve in your system?? - Any good salvage dealer should be able to tell you about interchanging 300U/350U/300/350/400/450 hydraulic parts. I think most of what you really need is interchangable among them, excepting valve handles. You might try giving JP Tractor Salvage a call, they have had a good supply of this stuff in the past when I've needed it. - Good luck, again.

The Fordson F Ignition System - by Anthony West. A fellow restorer contacted me earlier this year asking for some help and advice on a model F that he was restoring. He had over a period of months spent a fair amount of his hard earned cash on replacement parts for the old "trembler" ignition. Sadly though all his efforts seemed to be a waste of time and money as he still couldn''t get the temperamental old thing to run correctly!! If i said that this was a little frustrating for him that would be "conservative" in fact the problem had reduce
