Hi BB, Just tap lightly on the rod caps and they should become loose. IH tractors usually have the rods numbered. After removing a cap check it for a number. The numbers usually face the camshaft. When in doubt mark the cap and rod with a spring loaded center punch mark. One punch on No1 rod and two punches on No2 and so on. You should "mike" measure the rod journal on the crankshaft to see if it still measures standard and is not scored or worn. You can get ,002" undersize inserts if it is slightly worn beyond specs and the machined surface of the crankshaft is still nice and smooth. Mark and check the main bearing caps too. You want that crankshaft to have a nice machine surface so you won't have bearing failure later. Take your time rebuilding the engine and most mechanics will give you advice on any questions. Good Luck, Hal PS: Notice how the old inserts are installed.
