Putting Mains and Rod Bearings in H

I am going to go ahead and put mains and rod bearings in my 41 H. First time and learning so here goes a question. I took the two bolts off holding one of the rod bearings on and the cap will not come off. I dont want to tap it to hard but what is the best way to get the cap to come down. I know it is a tight fit and dont want to break anything. If anyone knows any tips to advise a lost sheep please do so on putting mains and rods in. Thanks in advance.
