thanks again hugh, this tractor is a utility and does have a TA. there is no noticable difference in ground speed when the TA is engaged so i guess as you say i should look at a manual and see about adjustment. Bought this machine cheap because it needs a little attention, probably will do fluid and filter change this weekend. After that will have to address the power steering and loader not working,steering acts like it wants to work when tractor is sitting still or moving at slow speeds, other than that it wont work at all. have new hydraulic filter and i figured that was a good place to start. thanks again hugh, you will probably see many posts from me in the upcoming weeks.
