RH,This how I replaced my bearings. 1. Remove all bearing caps,keeping them in order that they were removed and which side faces to the front,loosen the cap bolts slowly and each cap bolt at about the same torque. 2. You should be able to see the exposed crankshaft but it won't fall out. Now use a flexable putty knife to drive out the other half of top MAIN bearings,tap the knife between the crank and main bearing cap until the 1/2 bearing comes out the other side.The piston can be slide up the cylinder to pop out those bearings.The top bearing has a tab on it so it can only be driven out one way. 3. New bearings should be prelubed with a quality grease,use just a thin coat on them and then reverse the removal order and torgue each bearing. Goodluck with the project.
