Putting mains and rod bearings in H

I have never put mains and rod bearings in anything before but want to do the work myself. Could someone give me step by step how to do this properly so I dont end up regreating tring. I have the oil pan down and have pulled the center Main cap off and just want some pointers on getting the top bearing shells out and also pointers on how to turn the engine to get the rod bearing caps pointed down as I am doing them.. Hope this is not a stupid question but help would be appreciated.
