an M that sounds louder ????

I have a 1951 farmall M that I purchased 2 years a ago. It runs fine really for a M but when I hear it runing next to another M it just sounds louder. The the man I bought it off of said it was just rebuilt. But he had his friend do the work so he didnt know what he did to it. The only other time Ive heard a tractor get "louder" is if someone puts a cam in it. But my tractor doesnt seem to have a lope or anything. But I can run the tractor with the fuel screw clean out of the carb. Any thoughts ???? thanks for your time
