F-20 Front wheel spindle method of attachment ?

Guys - - have a 36 F-20 with the narrow front end. Like many F-20's, the steel wheels were cut off years ago and replaced with rubber (38's on the rear), which makes the tractor appear to run down hill. How is the front wheel spindle assembly attached to the vertical shaft in the steering assembly? It appears a pin goes thru (tapered & driven out from which side?)front to back, and a bolt head sticking out of the bottom of the spindle assembly. Is it feesible to make a male/female shaft extension for this beast to level it out ? Thanx for your thoughts ! Pete
