I have just unearthed my A from the grave after having it sitting for two years after I bought it and it didn't run. This my first project tractor. I overhauld the engine pistons, sleeves, the works with the exception of water pump. It started right up with no problem. Now when you drive it under a load like a small incline it sounds like it is popin back into the carb. Does the sound like a timing issue? There is no timing mark left on the flywheel. Rust took care of that! Also after a while it just shuts off and when restarted runs for a min or two and shuts off again. You let it sit for a while to cool and it will run again and the cycle starts all over again after a while.
