Hi, had a similar problem with a B414D which is the older brother of the 384. When you went up a hill you had to give it almost full throttle and then going down hill it would run at max RPM and had to back off the throttle. The problem turned out to be strip of rubber from the Diesel fuel storage tank filler hose had got inside the fuel tank of the B414D and every time you went up a hill it restrict the flow of Diesel fuel to the injector pump. The gouvenor inside the injector pump would attempt to compensate. Look for the simple solutions first. Good luck. JB
