IH 240 Utility clutch problem

I machined the pressure plates.009" per side, installed new clutch and release bearing. I wasn't sure how to adjust the clutch finger so I kept moving them out to get more disengagment. Now thier out as far as I can get them but still the gears grind . Is there some adjustment on the linkage that I haven't found??? I suspect that maybe the finger are wore out but I'm not sure what they looked like when new. I need help!
