I had a similar occurance on my SMTA when I had it off for engine rebuild. I put innew points and condensor and interchanged the screws when I put it together, tractor wouldn't start and had no spark, the advance plate was bent to heck and it sheared the drive pin. At least I was able to determine the problem the first time through. I guess if my distributor had coiled up all my wires around it maybe I would have found the problem sooner anyway. You really should have aken a picture.
