PTO hp is 24.4--for what you are talking about 5 ft is plenty wide, wider and you will have to take a partial cut. If you really mean brush, not just weeds, be sure the mower has a shear pin in it or some other means to protect your pto. Also, the C/Super C does not have a live pto, and even 1st gear will be too fast sometime. In very heavy growth you will have no choice but to use 1st gear and take a partial cut. If you are talking about fairly heavy brush, Super C's were simply not made to take that kind of abuse.
