That happens with the pawls on the trip mechanism. I dont beleve thats what your problem is. I would say to check,File,Sand, All conections . Wires In side The coil, The coil cap, The wire that hooks to the points, Check the points only use a file not sand paper. Make sure there at 13 thousands. Then take the coil wire out of the dist cap and hold it about 1/4" away from The screw on the side that the switch wire hooks to and either turn the mag by hand or on the tractor. And see what you have for spark and what color it is. It should be blue or a little yellow will usally work. I have seen bad plug wire and or coil wires do what you are describing also. Let me know if you need anything else. I have parts and complete mags avalible. JON
