Magneto cut-off switch

On the intake manifold of my WD-9 there is a wire hanging out, upon my limited research I think this is a "Magneto cut-off switch"

The tractor has no Magneto any more (it has been converted), it switches from gas to diesel with no problems.

Can I just remove this switch and plug the hole?
