Hey Scotty, I bought this tractor three years ago. It ran rough the day I got her so I decided to slowly fix her up. She never had much power but could push snow around. She would only run for 1/2 hour the she would sputter and bog down and quit. I was told that it was dirt in the gas, bad coil, points and condenser, float not set correct, bad wires and plugs. You get my point. I have not done a compression test yet. I do plan to take out ther oil pump and resurface the base and put in new gaskets. If I find that the compression is bad how difficult will it be for a green mechanic to put in new rings or sleeves? Pistons? This tractor runs worse now then it did when I got her. What am I doing wrong? I am planning to eliminate the in-line fuel filter to see if that helps. Thanks for all your input and wish me luck!
