I'm getting ready to build a snow plow for my Farmall Super A and I was considering the merits of using UHMW polyethylene as the blade surface. I have called a local supplier and I can get a 10'x1.5'x3/8" piece for near double what a comparable rolled steel one would cost(I only need 6' but they can only do 10'), I can also get 1/4" thick poly for just over what the steel blade would cost. I intend to support it every foot. How difficult is it to get it to take a bend to fit the plow? I live in an area that tends to get a lot of wet sticky snow and I am wondering if using polyethylene is worth it? Also, would I be better off with 1/4" thick or 3/8". Thanks in advance, SAm in NS
