We used them for a while when I was with the Kansas Highway Department. They are designed to plow right down to the paved surface of a road without damaging the road like a steel blade will. We found they wore out quickly under those conditions, but your useage wouldn't be as severe.
If you have a paved driveway one should work great, but rocks might tear the blade up and shorten it's life.
