paul i don't think that you understand the oil system in your 300. there is only a small portion of the oil that goes through the filter, this is why i think that good oil pressure is important on working tractors. the oil filter base is attached to the side of the block and a 3/8" hole from the oil gallery feeds the filter housing and the oil is pushed through that little bitty hole in the side of the bolt that holds the filter canister on. that is all the oil that gets filtered is what the oil preesure pushes through that little hole, the rest goes straight from the pump to the bearings.
