Thanks Hugh. The thing that got me interested in this was that the parts manual listed a field change kit that is no longer available, but the individual parts are available. The price that I was quoted for the toggle alone was as much as a new "old style" band assembly. You've told me all I need to know. Since there is not much difference in performance, it's not worth the expense. On a different subject, what is your opinion on using a used oiler gear for the transmission? I've heard that new ones from a dealer cost 4x what a good used one costs. Then again, given everything that is involved in this project, I don't want to risk having to do it again. Thanks for your response.
