Now that you have described it I know what you are talking about. That arrangement does provide for more precise control. I don't know where you might find one. Just as an idea, I have been able to disassemble the shaft and remove it from the housing (standard IH) and then put it all back together again. I think it is the clevis end that will come off. Could you take yours apart and just rebuild it?
