Plowing before the Farmall was invented (pics)

Somewhat OT, but kinda interesting... The neighbors ran their annual Old Fashioned Farm Day last Sunday. This event features draft animals plowing and fitting "like in the old days". More than a dozen teams were already at work when I visited early in the day. Despite wet conditions (over 2" of rain fell the day before), plowing and fitting went on. Fascinating to observe animals plow and fit in ground conditions that would mire most modern equipment. Watching these animals, implements and their drivers at work gives one a true appreciation for the dramatic advance in agricultural technology over the past 100 years. Punch below for a few photos...
