I havent broke that yet, never showed signs of it. Ive been looking for the origianl hyd pump cover,, our club, lets you remove the pumps, etc etc as long as a steel plate was offered in the books to replace the parts removed. I have seen one crack along the side along the side of the flywheel. Welded, and made a plate on both sides to help hold it,, owner replaced it when the season was done,,,,, I usually stay under 5000# with my High Hp H's, They may pull harder than most Ms',, but,, thats just it,, they are not M's,,, Ive got a 70 hp 1950 model H, with the low low 1st gear,,, then I have a 100+hp 1940 model H, then a bone stock 53 Super H that I pull with on a regular basis. 25 pulls a year, 4 hooks per tractor. I try not to overweight them, I once got crazy, and weighted the 1940 H up to 7000# and ran modified class, and beat the big M's and the MM', and the ollies, Jd's,,, on that day,,, the next pull after,,, It snapped the constant mesh gears, bent the lower drive gear shaft, all I heard was a click,,,,, After rebuilding it,, I stayed out of the heavy classes, under 5500, I like to keep it all in one piece for more than a week at a time. LOL! Antique pulling, is a great sport to go out and work the ol tractor,, like many other sports, there is dangers involved, and you gotta know the limits of your machine,, Ive seen a JD G break completely in two once before,,,, ChadS
