Well, we had another day Friday where good ole boys didn't have enough to do so we dug my son's Jeep out of the barn, fired it up, washed it off and went cruising. Had a nice lunch in town , got a six pack and checked the crops out. The neighbour beside me planted corn two weeks to the day on Sunday, after digging up several kernels for observation the best description is as follows. The seed is swollen up , the ends are just broken open and a sprout is just visible to the naked eye. The average sprout would be less than 1/16th inch, it has been just too cold, had a snow on it for about 4 days. I would guess if it warms up it will survive, but if we get more cold and rain those kernels could become biomasses....rotted...the jury of three is still out here, but no regrets that we didn't get our seeding done, feel there is lots of time and this early seeding may not make it....Mike in Exeter Ontario
