I'm confused about wiring an A regulator

The drawing of just the generator in the service manual for the A shows that the F terminal on the regulator (cutout relay?) is connected to the F post on the generator. But,the schematic for the entire wiring system shows no such wire at this point, only the wire from the field resistor in the light switch is connected to the field post on the generator. So, which is it? My tractor is a 6V, positive ground that looks exactly like the light switch and generator set up in the service manual with GEN, A and F terminals.
