Something sounds fishy here. I’m presuming the machinist that refaced the flywheel took as much off the area that the pressure plate mounts to as he did where the friction disk sets. If not, here is why you are having issues. Second, did you get a different pressure plate? If so, the fingers might not be adjusted correctly. If not, did you check the finger height on the old pressure plate before you installed it? If not, check this as some of your problem may be corrected if you replace the pins or need to adjust the fingers on the pressure plate. Third, did you replace the throw-out bearing, and was it exactly the same dimensions as the old one? Just some things to check that won’t cost you a lot of time or money.
