Nick: Is your Super A actually running on compression? How long will it keep going after you push in the switch? My Super A will run on compression for probably 30 to 60 seconds if I shut it off hot from working hard. It doesn't run smooth as there is some misfiring. If you don't allow these thermosyphon tractors to idle a bit and cool down they will do this, but never more than a minute and not smooth, as with ignition on. If the tractor is running indefinately and smoothly, you may have a malfunction somewhere in switch or wiring allowing enough current through to keep tractor firing. You did mention you heard of tractors dieseling, what you don't say is that your tractor is doing that.
