Super C axel seal HELP!

I"m trying to replace the axel bull gear seals on my Super C. Yet I am having trouble getting the axel off. I got the tranmision cover off and the bull gears are held in by two diffrent ways one a snap ring the other bolts. I removed the ring and yet the bull gear will not come off and there fore can not take the axel off. How do you get the bull gear off???
