460 Diesel Won't Start: Busted Injector Pump Shaft

Worked on the 460 tonight. The return line to the tank is clear. There is a screen where the fuel line reaches the injector pump and it was clean. Turned out the pump shaft is twisted off, so the diesel fuel was going no where. Looked through the timing plate hole (took two screws out); when turning the engine over, the pump did not spin. I removed the pump. I wonder if I can buy a replacement shaft for it, or if I can find a reubuilt one somewhere. I guess there may be one at a salvage yard. I wonder if it can possibly be welded and put back in? It looks like the shaft will slide out one end.
