Dixieland: What do you mean, can't jack on steering axle? Damn axle has been holding front of the tractor up for 50+ years. I'm almost certain folks didn't take the oil pan off to change a tire or wheel bearing. When we were young lads, we used to stand back on to Cubs and SA, grab them by the ty-rods and try to pick front end off ground. Most of us could lift the Cub, can't remember anyone putting daylight under front tires of SA. My point is if ty-rods will stand this surely the front axle will take it.
