300 Utility Won't Run

My dad and I have been trying for the last few years to get an IH 300 Utility to run. Finally got her going last night, and it runs beautifully for about 2 or 3 minutes then it will lud down and die as if it is being overpowered by something. Do you have any thoughts on this? We are planning to do a complete rebuild on it this winter since it sat idle for about 30 years so that may be our best answer. Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated.
